Greetings friends and thank you for stopping by to take a look with me into the cosmic weather for the month of June. I’m going to focus primarily on the key aspect configurations in summary with these monthly postings.
We’ve got a New Moon in Gemini on Monday, the 3rd to start us off. (Good luck keeping that Duran Duran song out of your head.) As each dark Moon is the start of a new lunar cycle, our attention drawn inward to pause and appreciate a silent intention for clarity in all communications and detachment from harmful mental habits. The Mutable Air of Gemini is light, moveable energy expressed socially through sharing and this New Moon seems to ask us to see where have our energies become stagnant? Might now be a good time to explore some fresh ideas or to learn some new skill, art or craft? One of my favorite characteristics of Gemini energy is its capacity for a detached fluidity, qualities that can come in handy as we shift into much more dense and tenacious energy later in the month.
Mid-month, as the Moon waxes to full on the 17th, will be Mercury and Mars moving into a conjunction with one another as they oppose first Saturn, then Pluto. The interplay of these archetypal energies is some of the very most challenging, tense and potentially therefore, productive or transformative in all of astrology. The speed, fervor and volatility of the Mercury-Mars pairing is the rushing need to put ideas into action, to deploy a plan and in the sign of Cancer as they are, the feeling is much more defensive and protective than offensive. The awareness-opposition to Saturn-Pluto signals a kind of irresistible force meets immovable object confrontation. The potential energy from the 14th through the 18th in particular is extraordinary for working hard and diligently to get the very bottom of things, for recovery and discovery. Those with key areas emphasized in their charts at 22° of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) will likely be experiencing the power of this transit more personally and may need some loving tenderness though this.
During the same time all of that is taking place, right around the Full Moon in Sagittarius, is the square from Jupiter to and supportive sextile from Saturn to Neptune. This speaks to me of peak manifestation potential as the grand spiritual, intangible qualities of Jupiter with Neptune are strengthened and grounded by Saturn. This is the very portrait of bringing a vision into form, the embodiment of ideals and given the dynamism of the aforementioned transits, a time for breakthroughs.
The Summer Solstice, when the Sun enters the sign of Cancer, is on the 21st this month preceding the engagement of Venus with Jupiter-Neptune on the 23rd~24th. As the light of day is abundant and almost supernatural in its intensity so too is the sense of awe in the face of the transcendent beauty of nature, of abundant love. The imagery of overflowing springs to mind. If you tend to become overwhelmed by the constant bombardment of bad news, tune out with intention just for the weekend to tune-in to the transpersonal. The weekend of the 22nd is perfect for aesthetic appreciation, for sharing truth and beauty, succumbing to the rapture of the spirit through art, music and dance.
